21st EAI International Conference on Body Area Networks

Why Attend?

EAI BodyNets 2026 invites high-quality contributions addressing the design, implementation, and evaluation of next-generation body-centric systems. The conference welcomes research on wearable and implantable devices, in-, on-, and off-body communications, digital twins, machine learning for physiological and behavioral inference, and the regulatory and socio-technical challenges of pervasive health technologies. The event provides a multidisciplinary forum for researchers and practitioners from computer science, engineering, healthcare, and related fields to exchange ideas and advance the state of the art in intelligent body-centric networks and services.

Social, Workshop & Posters Session

Eai-knossos

Social Program- Explore Knossos

Knossos Tour: Knossos is a Bronze Age archaeological site in Crete. The site was a major center of the Minoan civilization and is known for its association with the Greek myth of Theseus and the minotaur. It is located on the outskirts of Heraklion, and remains a popular tourist destination.

3rd IOT-HR: WORKSHOP ON INTERNET OF THINGS IN HEALTH RESEARC

IOT in Health Research

The workshop focuses on the challenges and opportunities presented by the continuous data acquisition from Internet of Things (IoT) devices, such as smartwatches, fitness trackers, mobile phones, and smart home appliances.

EAI BODYNETS 2026

The rapid evolution of wearable technologies, intelligent sensing, and pervasive connectivity is transforming digital health, personalized medicine, and human-centered computing. Modern Body Area Networks (BANs) integrate multimodal sensors, embedded intelligence, and secure communication infrastructures to support continuous monitoring, early diagnosis, rehabilitation, and autonomous living. These systems increasingly rely on AI-driven analytics, edge–cloud continuum architectures, and privacy-preserving data management to deliver reliable and context-aware services.

Authors have the opportunity to submit an extended version of their paper in the EAI Endorsed Transactions journal selected by the conference (indexed in Scopus, Ei Compendex, and ESCI/Web of Science, depending on the journal). Conference authors are eligible for a discounted Article Processing Charge (APC). Current APC rates and discount information are available on the respective EAI Endorsed Transactions journal website.

The article’s publication is subject to the following requirements:

  • It must be an extended version of the conference paper with a different title and abstract. In general, 30% of new content must be added.
  • The article will be processed once the conference proceedings have been published.
  • The article will be processed using the fast-track option.
  • Once the conference proceedings are published, the corresponding author should contact us at [email protected] with the details of their article to begin processing.

Additional publication opportunities

EAI is an open community dedicated to creating an environment where every member receives the same opportunities and benefits to develop and grow their research mission and career. As the largest free professional research society in the world, EAI offers a complete range of conference proceedings publication opportunities. Based on the qualification of the conference and the conference scope, EAI provides the possibility to publish the proceedings for every sponsored conference. Consistent with its mission to support developing communities, all EAI sponsored conferences appear in EUDL, the European Union Digital Library (EUDL). EUDL is Open Access and free for EAI members, reaching a community of 250,000 subscribers and providing the visibility that allows the conference organisers to develop the conference into a fully fledged indexed proceedings publication in subsequent years.

EAI Endorsed Transactions on Body Area Networks

About the Journal

EAI Endorsed Transactions on Body Area Networks is an open-access, peer-reviewed interdisciplinary, scholarly journal that aims to advance the science, technology, and applications of body-centric sensing and communication systems. With the increasing convergence of IoT, healthcare, AI, and wearable technologies, Body Area Networks play a pivotal role in collecting, transmitting, and analyzing data from the human body and its surrounding environment.

EET-BAN provides a platform for original research, reviews, and visionary insights at the intersection of wearable and implantable systems, communication and networking, signal processing, data security and privacy, and end-user applications. The journal promotes innovation across a broad range of domains: from health and well-being to sports, entertainment, and assistive technologies. We welcome contributions that explore theoretical foundations, hardware and software implementations, regulatory frameworks, and impactful real-world deployments.

This journal targets academics, researchers, engineers, and practitioners from academia, industry, and healthcare institutions who are engaged in the design, implementation, and evaluation of body-centric communication systems. Contributions that explore interdisciplinary approaches and demonstrate tangible societal impact are also encouraged.

The journal publishes research articles, review articles, commentaries, editorials, technical articles, and short communications with a continuous frequency.
